<i><b><font color=990066>Ich soll für Englisch (!!!) ein Plakat machen, aber mir fällt nüx ein was ich über London (bzw. England <-- das sind die Themen) alles reinschreiben muss! Also...
<u>meine Fragen</u>
Was fällt euch dazu ein:
a) Englisch food (Englisches Essen  )
b) ... Sehenswürdigkeiten
c) Berühmtheiten aus England - London
(wenns geht auf Englisch :o))
Ey Leute, wäre echt super, wenn jeder hier mal paar Sachen reinschreiben könnte zu a),b) und c)

Aber bevor hier jemand wieder weint ( )
Ich mache auch was und nicht nur das was (eventuell) hier reingeschrieben wird.
Also strengt euch mal an, schließlich sind ja die meißten Leute älter als ich und müssten das schon dran gehabt haben in der 9.

- british capital
- one of the biggest and most famous cities in the world
- millions of tourists go there every year
- life in london isnt easy
- in areas like Brixton in south london and the east end, a lot of houses are very old an shabby
-most people are poor
- most people once came from india, pakistan or the west indies
- houses and flats in the nice parts of london are very expensive, they cost so much that even most people with good jobs cannot pay for them
- many people live in towns and villages outside london
Big ben:
-big ben is the name of the huge bell inside the tower
- you can hear big ben on the BBC WORLD SERVICE in almost every country all over the world
St. paul's cathedral:
-prince charles and princess diana got married there in 1981
- it's the second largest church in the world
- christopher wren built it after the great fire of london in 1666
-from the top of the church witch is 365 feet high you have got a wonderfull view over london
tower of london:
-the tower is over 900 years old
- it is one of the most famous castles in britain
- it was once a royal place, the home of the kings and queens of england
- later it was a prison and a place for many executions
- some people say there are still ghosts in the tower
- today its a museum and over two million people visit it every year
- they come to see the crown jewels and the beefeaters
Madame Tussaud's:
- with its wax figures of kings and queens, pop stars, politicans and in the chamber of horrors famous criminals
The Thames Flood Barrier:
- in the past there have been several terrible floods in london. they can happen when the wind pushes the sea up the river towards london.
- there are walls along the river but these aren't high enough to protect the city
- in 1928 fourteen people died when the water came over the walls in westminster
- a really bad flood might kill thousands of people and damage many of the historical buildings
-londoners now hope that the huge thames flood barrier will hold back the water so that this will never happen
