Hi all,
Sorry I'm writing this in English but my German is pretty terrible (Urlaub-Deutsch nennt man das hier).
I read on your web site about the quizzes you participate in, so I thought you might be interested in the following:
On June 3rd the third individual world quiz championships will be organized by the IQA, the International Quizzing Association.
The IQA consists of national quiz federations from numerous countries including the United Kingdom, India, Malaysia, Norway, Belgium etc.
The first two events were organized in July 2004 and 2005 and the Englishman Kevin Ashman (a professional quiz players) won the title on both occassions. The IQA has also recently held the second European Championships, both for individuals as for national teams, in November in Tallinn, Estonia, an event that got prime time coverage on national television.
Unlike the European Championships, no international travel is required to take part in the World Championships.
Unfortunately until now Germany has not been one of the participating countries. An anomaly that surely needs to be rectified!
For that reason we contact you. We are looking for quz enthusiasts in Germany or organisations that are willing to organise a German leg of the competition.
An event that will culminate this year in a televised grand final in October on a central location (probably the UK)
If you are interested in getting more information on quizzing on an international level, please do not hesitate to contact me ([email protected])

Steven De Ceuster

Nobody brave enough?
To show the questions are not terribly hard, I'm willing to post some sample questions of last year's event here, if there is an interest... |
